*Becca turned a lovely rosy pink, and felt the tingling reach all the way to the tips of her ears. One of which still bore a streak of dark blue paint from an errant brush as she'd shoved a loose lock of hair from her eyes earlier.*
"...we had a drawing-master at school for sketches and watercolours...but since I've been home I've been trying some oil painting as well. Of course they're so heavy I tend to leave them at my studio or in the attic at home..."

"Really? Do you have any finished pieces?" He asked eagerly.

"Er...just one or two. At my studio. But really, I'm convinced they need more work. The figures are finished well enough, but they seem...flat. I need to experiment with the light in them, I think..."

*He chuckled*
"You're too modest. I bet there's something extraordinary there, and you're just keeping it secret from me." He teased.

*Becca bit her lower lip. She DID hide things in her studio that she dared not leave lying about at home.*
"You will think me quite foolish if...when you see them," *she said.* Foolish or mad.

*He was all seriousness now*
"My dear, I've seen enough that I think it's safe to say that I won't find it foolish."

*She began stuffing her drawings back into her portfolio, her head bent to avoid his gaze.*
"You are a well-bred gentleman, monsieur...and I'm a foolish little girl. I think there would be of little interest in the subjects of my paintings..."

"But how do you know for sure? And how will you become a famous artist if nobody ever sees your work?" *The well-bred gentleman comment made him pause* "I'm just...Rudolf. I don't think of myself as anything else. "

*She looked at him warily for a long time before she nodded, slowly.*
"Alright, then. I suppose...come on, then," *she said quietly, going to lead him to her studio.*

**NEW DAY** *Adi sat alone at a little table, dressed in a fashionable blue dress that showed off her figure and which had taken ages for her to convince her father to buy. She waved after her friend, Josephine, and then pulled out a book to read while she finished her tea.*

*Another day, another effort to amuse himself in Paris.
Good lord, were there ladies everywhere?
Darcy strolled in and took a seat at the far side of the room.*

*Adrienne glanced up for a moment, her eyes landing on the man she'd met the day before. She frowned slightlyat the sight of him- he'd been rather rude, in her opinion.*

*Darcy ordered coffee and noticed the young woman staring at him.
Frenchwomen were so forward.
He shook out his London newspaper so that it shielded him from view.*
