**NEW DAY**
Adrian was sort of following, presumably because it was Adrien who knew his way around Montmartre and into the various cafes. This one had an elegant name, as the best ones all did, and some pretty, though faded, signs. They suited the worn look the pair of them had.
"You look like my professor," said Adrien to him as they entered, the background noises of people talking or arguing (this was Paris, after all), giving him a little wink and a smile. "And as though you're dating me. Should have brought some books, huh?"

"And have to recursively look like we're covering out tracks?"
His voice was pleasant, his mood sufficiently lightened now, and his accent in full unconcealed force- possibly even emphasized.

"But you'd be so good at professoring," said Adrien with a bit of a pout as they were seated. "Wouldn't it be just Greek of us, though?"

This earned the rare prize of an actual laugh.
"You're better-read than I thought."

He flushed, but it was not entirely out of awkwardness, and he looked just a bit pleased with himself.

Adrian adjusted the plain-glass spectacles he'd put on to further protect his anonymity with his gloved right hand, which emerged from the same black coat he'd worn the night before. Today, though, the coat was opened over the sweater Adrien had picked out earlier, and while the full effect still didn't exactly make Adrian look less physically imposing, he at least looked less in general like himself.

"You're so darling," said the boy with a bright smile, his face in his hand as he watched them, forgetting even where they were and that a waiter would shortly disengage from elsewhere to ask what they wanted.

"You're particularly forthcoming with unusual adjectives today," Adrian observed.
It was at this moment that a particularly cheerful-looking waitress arrived, pink-cheeked and wearing a pale dress with so many ribbons around the collar and buttons down the front that one wondered if she were worried it would slide off without this many fastenings.
"Awww, how nice," she cooed, looking between them. "Father-son outing?"
Adrian's face went through the same sequence of reactions it had at the theater when he'd been told to shut up, though this time he managed to pull his mouth shut as his eyes came back into focus.
"It's a study meeting, actually," he lied. "One-on-one with a student."

After drinks had been ordered, Adrien put his hands on the tabletop and leaned forward in his seat drastically far. It shouldn't be surprising that he had something to say to that, excitable as he was.
"Ohh, we should so have brought books," he said. "There's not going to be any doubt in her mind what this is. Even when I was hooking up with a teacher we never went on dates."
He winked as he pulled back into straight posture again.

He wasn't particularly surprised by this admission.
"She made her own assumptions. It's possible others will as well."
To a large extent, he was merely pleased that Adrien hadn't said anything about his mistaken paternity. In fact, the difference in their ages didn't seem to have occurred to Adrien at all.

He looked almost touched, in a dazed sort of way.
"But that wouldn't bother you?" he asked softly.

He lifted one hand, presumably to illustrate a point, though the actual gesture came across as more regal and vague than informative.
"An older man and a younger one... people will say what they think they see."

"You're not that much older," said Adrien, obliviously. He had read his age in a magazine or two, but not in some time now, and he'd apparently forgotten it.

Adrian smiled thinly.
"I'm flattered that you think so."

He laughed, still oblivious, but now slightly curious. "Why? How old're you?"
