Emilie had noticed the hair, and that had been about it. Although perhaps, had she been as perfectly of a 21st-century mindset - as she liked to boast to Mulder - she would have been much more unnerved, Emilie's entire social and intellectual education in this century had been in an insane asylum, and finding someone she knew very well rather nude in the street was, unfortunately, not setting off the alarm bells in her head. Beyond that, she associated Mulder with Their Century and associated that with her own insanity, and therefore if Mulder had lost his clothes somehow along the way back to the inn, she only clucked her tongue about it.
Although her eyes did widen somewhat and she had to swallow down a rather goofy smile.
"Oh. Yes." She giggled, head swimming. Even though she was not unused to the concept of her fellow madmen being rather naked beneath a ratty blanket, she...well, her aslyum had been one for girls only. She pressed a hand to her mouth to muffle the sound. "You are very naked, I find. Um...d'you, do you want one of my costumes?" She patted her crazy rag of a coat, balled up and strapped over her shoulder. She had stolen some men's clothes once, and they made a good disguise. For Mulder they would just make him more comfortable, she hoped. "No shoes, but you can change in an alleyway up here. It's got to be better than that. Did, um. The aliens steal your clothes?" She giggled again and had to press her mouth once more.

*Poe looked instinctively down at his human form.*
"Something like that." *He answered without offering more detail.*
"I am not truly so naked, am I?" *For there was at least some covering and Poe had seen less in her time here. But still...*
"Yes, I should like very much to borrow some clothing. Thank you."

Emilie muffled her voice with her knuckles, tugged Mulder along by the elbow (which really shouldn't have been funny, because she had seen a man's naked elbow before and therefore the elbow was not a bad spot to be naked at, but still!) and pulled him into an alleyway. Throwing her pack off, she set about undoing the fastening on the inside of the coat where her possessions snuggled in the thick lining and made it terribly lumpy. She pulled out a pair of trousers and a big button-up shirt, a belt and her suspenders and tossed them at Mulder. He might not have as much need of them as she did, for the clothes were enormous on her and he was of a larger size than she himself, but just in case.
She lingered around by her stuff before she thought Mulder might want to undress away from her, and, with a good-natured smirk, she pinched his nose and skittered off to wait beside the alleyway, violin case bashing against her hip as she did.
Staring into the street and decidedly not looking behind herself - though her imagination did a lot for her and she giggled into her arm uncontrollably - she called back to him, "I wrote a new song, can I play it for you?"

"Thank you." *Poe answered instinctively as the clothing was offered, though he had moved to start changing before she'd hit the edge of the alley. He had no problem with nudity (of course) and this person obviously knew Mulder and might have some idea where to find him. Of course, that would be easier to discern if Poe didn't also look like him. At the question, Poe looked back with a smile.*
"That would be most enjoyable."

"So formal!" she said with some elaborate eye-rolling and tongue-clucking, still without looking back. Mulder didn't seem to have nakedness issues. She wasn't sure whether she thought that suited him or not and it occurred to her again that she had only just met him. That seemed fairly bizarre to her, for she might have thought she'd known him longer if she'd been observing herself.
She flipped open the violin case and took out the brown instrument lovingly, stroking the face of it, then tucking it under her chin and tuning it. She began to play. It sounded like something of a guitar solo, except played on a classical violin. It was not very long, but she started to make up variations on it afterwards to stretch it out a little longer. She did not think about it consciously, but she really hoped he liked it.

*Poe's brow furrowed. Was he being formal? He hadn't meant to. And least, no more so than normal. He finished buttoning the shirt and turned to watch her play. It must have looked rather odd, the two of them in that alley, but mostly likely less odd that Poe wandering in not much more than a blanket, whether she looked like herself or Mulder at the time. Poe remained perfectly still, head cocked to take in full enjoyment of the piece, his eyes distant and unblinking. When finished, he did as he had seen others do in his time here. He clapped and smiled, nodding as he added.*
"Well done! A most invigorating piece."

Emilie thought Mulder was being overly childlike in a joking manner, but in a way that highlighted his sincerity. It was more touching than Mulder's usual stoicism would have seemed to her, and she smiled up at him with a bit of a blush. She had not thought he could focus so much attention on her or her piece; no one had in such a long time. It made her slightly uncomfortable, a natural unease born of being used to being focused on for all the wrong reasons (the tests, the doctors' examinations), but it was a discomfort that, used to being around Mulder, she was satisfied to live with.
She changed the subject. "I am sorry you have no shoes," she said, pointing, "but it's not the first time someone's shoes have been stolen in Paris. I hope you have another pair back at the inn?"

*Poe looked down at his bare feet, then back to the girl with an easy smile.*
"Undoubtedly." *Mulder didn't seem the kind of fellow to be lacking in clothing, at least unless Poe had convinced him of the current benefits of such a state.*
"It is quite all right. I appreciate the clothing you've made available."

Emilie shrugged one shoulder awkwardly, embarrassed by his formal thanks. She wasn't sure what had gotten into him - she just supposed he was made aware of how thankful he was that she was around now that she'd done something genuinely useful, rather than simply hanging around and giggling at half of everything he said just because he said something deliberately ludicrous. Likewise, he seemed more easy-going in his manner than usual.
"Good day, then?" she asked, averting her eyes, not precisely uncomfortable but not at her usual nonchalant cheer. Somehow it seemed hard to be truly detached when she had just seen Mulder almost completely naked in the street. "Aside from the nudie parts. Well, you might not have minded," she said, mouth twisting into a teasing smirk as she glanced up at him from beneath ragged pink hair.

*Poe blinked, trying to ascertain the relation of the girl to Mulder. She didn't...feel familiar. But that experience was relatively new and meant little.*
"It has been better than previous ones." *He answered honestly. At least he wasn't in a cage anymore. And he was looking human again, so that was definitely a start.*
"And you?" *He remembered to ask in politeness.* "Has your day been well?"

She gave a half-laugh - thinking he might have been being sarcastic - but had plunged, momentarily into musing on just how bad his days could of gotten. It led her into the dark parts of how bad her days had been, and she hugged the backs of her elbows, not even wanting to go there, but having a hard time thinking about anything else.
When she spoke again, it was like being pulled out of a room that had been filled with noise into one that was almost entirely silent, everything so clear and clean and rendering her capable again. She smiled up at him and reached out to flick his nose on impulse. He was behaving kind of like an awkward gentleman and she felt he'd earned it. He reminded her of a prom date, you know, like a sophomore who has the luck to escort the senior-year Emilie, and she felt like reminded him of her seniority, in a nice way. "It's been fine. At least I got to ogle you."

*Poe blinked at the sudden sensation in his nose. It was a bit off-putting, a custom she had yet to come across in her travels here. But Poe could not inquire on it now, for it might raise suspicions. She could ask Mulder when she saw him again. She smiled at the thought. And at the girl.*
"That is good then. Should we return to the inn?" *He looked rather adorable, like a puppy that was ready to be home.*

Emilie was very quickly charmed by Mulder. She hadn't really known him to be so charming, and although it took her aback, she had already spent the last day warming to him, too much to notice. His smile seemed more open and unguarded than usual - she had gotten the impression, which she supposed was mistaken now, that he was as wary as she was. It seemed more now as though she needed to take care of him. Had someone ambled into her like that yesterday, instead of the reserved person Mulder had been then, she would have carefully avoided him. Having already formed a tie, however, she wasn't about to scuttle out of the way and back into the dark like a lowly beetle.
She smiled widely at him. "You silly ole thing. Of course."

*Poe blinked, rather expectantly though the smile did not fade.*
"I...I am afraid that I'm having a bit of difficulty in figuring out our current location. But it is not too far, is it?"
*Remembering the duties of his assumed sex, he offered his arm to her politely.*

****DIFFERENT DAY, POST-PICNIC****
The sun was beginning to dip below the horizon. Meg was drowsy and nervous all at once, and she kept looking from her hands back to Tybalt as they sat there together in the moving carriage.
"I wanted to..."
