*Spike altered his course a bit. Sarah would get there first, but at least she might afford him the ability to come up from behind. That would be better. It might give him a swing or two before he was dusted by something nasty. Or…whatever messier form his death would take. It would no doubt be epic.*

Calculating, she came in like a bolt from the sky, hitting Maria just so, the vampire letting out a cry as she let go of Sunflower. Vampire and sorceress went tumbling through the grass again, but this time, Sarah flew back up, Maria latched onto her and fighting in mid-air.
Sarah had just enough of a view below to see what was heading toward her companions.
"There's vampires comi--augh!"

Her punch having connected, she kept at it, one hand clamped onto Sarah's arm so that she wouldn't plummet back to the ground--not that the fall would have done much to Maria.
A hit, a hit, another hit.
"Fine, it's you I'm really after, I could care less about the others!"

*Spike was dumbstruck for a moment at the realization that not only was the girl so kind of crazy powerful witch, but Maria wasn’t like any vampire he’d dealt with. Even more flashy than Drac. And he’d made her. That was making not one lick of sense.
Coming back to his senses and realizing that there wasn’t much he could do to help in that particular battle; he launched himself back into the oncoming vampire horde. But he kept close, in case he was needed. From the looks of things, she’d been busy.*

Jay crawled over to where Sunflower was laying, and ignoring his hand he lifted her up on to his lap. She was bleeding terribly so he took off his vest and clamped it to her neck.
"Of you stupid, stupid girl, what were you thinking!"
Jay cared for Sunflower, more than any employer should, she was like a daughter to him, and was more than touched when she had come out with Sarah... Sarah he looked up in to the air, terrified.

"Beast!" She roared at Maria. "Monster!"
She ducked and weaved through the air, repeatedly zapping the vampire with spells from her free hand. If only she could get the other hand free, she'd be able to set off a spell she'd been wanting to try...and one that would be very effective in this situation...

"I'd rather be pretty monstrous if it means being able to toast the death of the sun!"
Maria was laughing--giggling, even--the zaps not doing a whole lot, mostly singing her clothes. Those were easily replaced.
"And you, this is pathetic--I can't believe I was actually afraid of you!"
Down below, the vampires were circling around Jay and Sunflower, some of them heading for Spike, though they didn't get very far with him.

Jay looked around "We're like two sitting ducks."

"Three!" *Spike called out over the vampiric mass as he slowly cut his way towards the other two humans. It was slow going, but he was making progress which was more than he'd expected.*
"Hope she gets ta whatever she's gettin' to." *He grumbled, his muscles burning. You know, it would have been nice to have some vampire stamina right about now.*

The situation was going south, way too fast--Spike, Sunflower and Jay would be overwhelmed in a few moments, and she hadn't been able to do as much to Maria as she thought she would. Worse, the vampire bite on her neck was bleeding profusely and she was starting to feel dizzy.
With one more herculean movement, she threw Maria off, the vampire falling with a nasty thud onto the grass--not that it would stop her.
Fighting back a wave of nausea--too much bleeding mustn't think of that now--she clapped her hands together in a complicated motion.
"Aurinko, Sonne, Solis!."
And there was blast of light from her hands, filling the night and turning it as bright as day.
It was the light of the sun.

A chorus of screams followed, the vampires turning to ash all around Spike, Sunflower and Jay. Loudest of all was Maria, who leapt into the air, grabbing onto Sarah's ankle even as the vampire was slowly falling apart.
In one last act of defiance, Maria clawed at the sorceress, drawing bloody gashes across Sarah's stomach before letting go and falling to the grass in a shower of gray ash.

The sunlight dissipated, returning the field back to being illuminated by the moon and stars. Passing out from the pain and added injury, Sarah plummeted the remaining distance to the ground, Maria's ashes falling around her like darkened snow.

Jay covered his eyes and leaned over Sunflower as Sarah screamed her enchantment.
But as soon as it was there, it was gone and the night was back. Opening his eyes he looked up at the ash covered field "Sarah" he whispered before yelling "Sarah!"

*It took Spike a moment to realize that being a vampire would have been most inopportune. He stood now amidst the nearly vacant field, processing what had transpired. He coughed deeply, having inhaled a little too much vamp dust. Blinking, he dusted himself off, mumbling something to Sarah.*
"Nice show there."
*Only then did he turn and realize that she was no longer hovering. Or standing. He hurried over to her general vicinity.*
"Bollucks."
((I didn't know how tall the grass was.))

Sunflower groaned, trying to stay conscious, she was covered in blood, much of it her own, and was starting to get dizzy.
