Adrian was in his home office with various printouts, charts, projected timelines and the like spread around him. He himself was writing furiously on a legal pad. He hadn't changed clothes after returning from Laurel, and his hair looked as though he'd run his hands through it a few times.

"It's more like noon."
He sat in his lap and put his arms around him.

"Hello again," he said lightly, ruffling Adrien's unfaded-by-contrast blond hair and kissing his temple. "Ready to face the day?"

"It doesn't matter."
Adrian, for his part, already looked very tired, but happy to see him.
"We have plenty of time. I have some pictures of the island, if you want to see them."

He quickly cleared away the graphs and charts and the like and brought Adrien another large album.
The first page showed a tiny, yawning ball of purple fluff with sharp little fangs.

"I'll keep her out of the bedroom," Adrian retorted.
