Changing into her civvies en route to New York had been a bit of a challenge for Megan, due to Rorschach having obvious issues with the idea of being in such close quarters with a pair of even temporarily and only partially exposed breasts. By now, though, she was sitting snugly under a blanket in one of the seats in Archie's back compartment, with her eyes wide with alarm even after several hours had passed.
"I burned down a building..."

Dan sighed "Look Megan, we'll have time for break downs later, right now we have to look at the situation at hand."

"Part of the job," Rorschach muttered.

"You knew that full well when you signed on" he said darkly, he wished he had.

Rorschach grunted.

Dan hung his head slightly, checking the sensors on the boards, making sure there was enough fuel in Archie for a Atlantic run.
His mind was firing all synapses at once and more ideas and thoughts were coming and going then he knew what to do with.

Dan who'd slowly began to fully emerge himself in to Archie's controls very coolly replied "Call Adrian, tell him."

"What do I-"
Megan hesitated, and then slowly approached the phone, searching through the list of attached numbers and looking at Dan and Rorschach, nervously.
She lifted the phone and pressed the appropriate button and waited for the phone to ring on the other end, fingers crossed while she practically did a nervous dance in place.
After what seemed like an eternity, she could hear on the other end, a voice marred by transatlantic static:
"...Hello?"
Megan breathed a huge sigh of relief.
"Oh, thank God-" "Who is this?" Veidt demanded on the other end. "It's Megan, Mr. Veidt, Dan's roommate-"
There was a pause.
"Hello?" Megan pleaded. "It's the middle of the goddamned night!" Veidt's voice snapped at her. "What the hell-" "Dan wanted me to call you-" "Dan?" Veidt asked. "Is he there?"
Megan looked up at him.
"He's flying the ship and wanted me to call y-" "He's flying the ship?"
Veidt's voice rose to such volume that Megan winced and pulled it away for a second even as she blurted,
"Look, pardon my language, Mr. Veidt, but shit just got seriously real-" "What does that even mean-" "We had to break Rorschach out of Charenton, and we're flying to New York right now-"
Megan waited anxiously through another pause.
"You- you broke Rorschach out?"
Veidt sounded weaker than usual. Worried. Megan bit her lip.
"Yes- we think someone set him up, and there was a repo man at the scene- we think GeneCo or- or somebody-" "Megan?"
It was the most directly he had ever addressed her. Megan's eyes widened.
"Yes, Mr. Veidt?" she asked, voice wavering. "Tell Dan it's not worth getting in this deep. GeneCo clearly wants to take me down by going after my former compatriots-" "We're coming to New York, sir, we're going to raid GeneCo-" "Stay out of this, Megan, you're an eighteen-year-old little girl-" "I'm twenty, I'm older than you were!" Megan snapped back, shoulders and back straightening despite being miles away from him. "And I'm in this as much as anyone else is now-"
She could hear Veidt sigh on the other end.
"All right, all right," said Veidt. "I understand... But really, the three of you have put yourselves at this much risk for my sake already-" "We're gonna need your help, okay?" Megan pleaded. "That's what he wanted me to tell you."
There was another pause. Megan inhaled sharply.
"I... all right. Keep yourselves safe." "We will," said Megan. "...good luck," said Veidt. "You're really going to need it."
There was the sound of a phone being hung up on the other end. Megan blinked and slowly set the phone back on the wall.
