((BOOM. Post here as you like, and branch off as you like.)) Dressed in what she liked to call her " Freakshow Ringmaster" costume, Sarah waited by the doors, having gotten here ahead of Jay. She was really excited this year--this was the first Halloween Ball she'd been to where she'd had someone to be there with.

Jay tightened the tie on his costume, one to match Sarah's, even if he hadn't told her. Jumping up the stairs to the ball he saw Sarah and grinned. "Reowr."

She turned toward him, grinning when she saw his costume.
"You sneak! I didn't know you were planning on that!"

Lucy, dressed as a gypsy this time around, sashayed past them and into the ballroom. She'd had fun last year, and was all pumped for this time around. She loved her outfit, enough so that it was quite likely that the skirt would make it's way into her regular clothes rotation .

Dressed as Don Giovanni, Beethoven bounded up the stairs, whistling a merry tune as he strolled into the ballroom.

Dressed as Don Giovanni, Beethoven bounded up the stairs, whistling a merry tune as he strolled into the ballroom. Mozart had arrived earlier wearing a large masquerade wig and a colorful mask, hadn't really deciding what he was going to wear. He simply went shopping and grabbed the most colorful things he could find. As Beethoven walked in, Mozart was surrounded by people "Luuuuudwiiiiig!"

"Ah, there you are! Was wondering what you were going to dress as."

Ah, humans. How they do love to parade about.*Eric watched the masses as the poured into the great hall. He had an excellent vantage point from the balcony. The stone of the banister was cool as his long fingers caressed it gently. Ever one to look good while not drawing too much attention to himself, Eric had decided on the fancy dress of the previous century. He knew that he cut a sharp line in it, and there was nothing wrong with looking every bit the part. After all, it was likely that he'd be snacking at some point this evening, and while he could always glamour, it was easier when they approached him first.* ((Open for anyone that might be interested.))

A diminutive suethor, dressed in black velvet but looking more like a schoolgirl Mrs. Danvers than an overdressed woman from the 50s with a frosty hairdo, sipped champagne with a slight frown, eyes big and mouth very tiny, which was how she usually looked.
After a moment, she smiled, which made her mouth look a lot wider, and strolled over to a gentleman she recognized, knowing full well that he wouldn't recognize her and finding this a pleasure to think of.
"George Boleyn?" she asked, eyes widening with maybe a tiny bit of cruel enjoyment, knowing George didn't want his reputation known, and unable to help herself anyway. "Viscount of Rochford?"
She tried to think of a title for herself in seconds, knowing he'd like her more if she had one, and wondering if by virtue of her saying it it would become true, or if she would just be lying. She didn't know how her suethor powers really worked yet, and had mostly used them to torture her characters and also to make them do uncharacteristically cute things - basically, all the things she'd done before actually entering the Sueniverse.

(( Iiiii am going to pounce. )) For Maggie, it was her first 'verse Halloween thread, but she'd certainly heard of them. She'd thought of dressing as a vampire- she was a vampire every year, because she was unimaginative and because she rather liked it- but after a moment of thinking of the real vampires that would be there....she decided it might be safer to go as a pirate instead. One large linen shirt, pushed up at the elbows and falling down her shoulders, a corset, a black-and-white sash around her waist twined into her belt, leather boots, of course, and enough jewelry and beads dangling from her ears, 'round her neck, or glittering on her fingers to justify Teja's nickname, and she stepped happily into the ballroom. Of course, she knew no one here. But she knew of several, and watched them walk by, identifying some of them with a small hesitant burst of triumph. Then, looking around, she was caught by the pale figure on the stairs, and tried valiantly not to stare.

Of course George had come to the ball. What better place to see and be seen? And, dressed in all his 15th century finery- doublet, jeweled collar, boots and chained buckles and gold buttons and all- George did intend to be seen. An old English aristocrat, what better disguise was there? His head turned automatically when he heard his name, the details of the girl coming towards him taking a second longer to process. "Yes?" he asked, after a moment of hesitation. His eyes narrowed a little at the title, then he tilted his head smoothly in some faint mimicry of a bow. "Oh, yes. That I am. But you have me at the most grievous disadvantage, I fear- share your name as well?"

George was really enormously pretty. No matter how much Teja enthused about him to Maggie, she couldn't quite get over it. And in person he was quite dark, and quite pale, and this was her favorite coloring, and really his PB didn't do him justice at all. He had marvellous bearing, too. Teja was well aware that she was looking him over much as future mother-in-law would, one picking out a match for her only daughter. Well, it was something like that.
"Bárónő Esztergom," she replied after only one second of hesitation. It was the Hungarian title for Baroness and the name of a Hungarian city of some kind or other. It was pretty lame, of course, but lie or not she'd said it, so therefore... "Anneliese Esztergom. It is a pleasure to meet you. I know you only by reputation, of course - " Smile perfect. It was really, really fun to torture him so, though he didn't deserve it. She'd have Nicki be very ardent later. " - but Madame Robecour is devoted to you. It is such a pity my husband is no longer living. He would have to take you hunting, and you seem incredibly charming company already."
