*Julian moved towards Erik eagerly, only then remembering his intangible nature. He frowned.*
"I...have been to see Father. But...he did not believe me."
*He pursed his lips tightly.*
"Will you speak to him on my behalf? Please, Mother..."
((I know you guys had the scene. I figure they got cross-pathed.))

"Nadir no longer doubts you," *Erik said, eager and full of news for his son.* "Yes, he got rather sloshed but he did not accuse Erik of lying. But Julian, there is something else Erik must tell you--the reason he went looking for you, which led him to the daroga's. There is a witch, with whom Erik has made a bargain--for you. Your corporeality. She says she can accomplish it."

*Julian stared at Erik, as if it was too good a thing to believe. His eyes narrowed.*
"And you trust her?"

*Erik sighed.*
"No, Erik does not. But it is something. The choice is yours, my son. She says she can make you corporeal--you must weigh the risks."

*Julian was quiet, deep in thought, weighing his options. Finally, he answered softly.*
"If you think she can do it...I think it is worth the risk. It...pains me not to touch you."
*He lifted his ghostly hand, but did not try to make contact with Erik.*

*Erik grimaced.*
"Erik, as well, feels your absence," *he said.* "If even Death cannot help, I don't know..."
*He shrugged helplessly.*
"What would you risk, to touch Erik again?"

Everything.
*Julian lowered his face shyly.*
"You know that you are precious in my eyes. Is that not worth risking all that I have?"

"Erik would hope so," *he said softly.* "But it is not his place to say."
*He would hate himself if it went wrong. If he lost Julian again, permanently. But what could they do? What choice, in the end, did they have?*
"She lives above," *he said.* "Shall we see her?"

*Julian smiled and nodded, leaning towards his mother as if seeking some embrace that would be denied.*
"I should like that very much. You will come too, no? To make sure that..."
nothing goes wrong.

"Of course," *Erik said quickly.*
How could you think otherwise?
*He opened the door, not sure if Julian needed one, and began the trek upstairs.*

*BACK NOW*
*Erik followed Julian into the house. They had not seemed to part the entire way down; flowing as one organism back to their sanctuary.*

**NEW DAY**
"Christian?"
*Erik's voice floated through the house on the lake, insinuating itself into every room without sounding the least bit loud.*

"Yes?" He called out, his voice coming from the living room area of the lair.
He'd been reading a book (having set aside the sheet music he'd been sent for now), trying to stave off boredom.*

*Erik walked into the living room area and smiled at his protege.*
"Erik was unable to locate the girl. It seems my counterpart--your angel--aided her escape."
