((Colored for spoilers.))
Full Name: Eli
Fandom: POTO, original, other (specify)? Let The Right One In, the film. Probably the book, too, when I read it.
Age: 12...
Build: Slim, sexless in a pubescent sort of way. And beautiful. Most people have never seen a prettier child. Unless she's hungry, of course, and then she's shrunken and dwarvish, too skinny to be believed, and she smells like an infected wound.
Hair: Long, black, somewhat curly, rather unwashed most of the time. When she hasn't fed, hairs start turning white.
Eyes: Huge and green
Nationality: Swedish
Job: Just a kid.
Personality: Silent, solemn, ultimately very patient. Not unsympathetic, but rather removed, with tendencies to hug the wall and hang back from the action, although not entirely aloof. Eli seems apathetic, but would really like to spend time with others. She just doesn't really know how. She grows rather attached - or at least fond - of those she is fond of very quickly, and is very lonely. She often doesn't let herself have the things that she wants.
She is fond of puzzles.
Life Story: Eli is a vampire. She catches fire when in sunlight, but only in direct sunlight; it does hurt her eyes and she tends to be sleepy at that time of day. Animals, especially cats, despise her, and her body cannot handle regular food. She can drink water, but that is all, and she prefers not to.
She does not breathe while she is sleeping, because she has to consciously make her body do it. Very shocked, she might stop, but only for a moment.
She is not harmed by extreme lows of temperature and can climb walls and fly, and is rather very strong. She does not drink enough blood to kill a human, but she must kill them regardless, or they will become what she is the next night. For this reason, she is very reluctant to feed by herself, preferring to have blood brought to her (but morally she has no qualms). If she has not fed in a while, she begins to smell a bit funny, as her body begins to decompose.
She can share her memories with others if she presses her lips to theirs; they will see these memories as though they are their own. She can hypnotize people with or without touching them. Often she'll ask the question, "Do you want to give me something?" It seems to be something of a spell. Even if she doesn't ask it, she can put the question to the person's mind, and, overwhelmed by the need to do it, they'll try and find something to give to her, whatever is at hand. The correct answer is for them to offer her their blood, so that she does not have an unwilling death on her hands, but most of the time they give her other things - money, mostly; she is very rich because of this, or clothing, or a toy, or anything they have with them that they can think to offer her. Other ways in which she attempts to get blood without biting is to buy it in small amounts from others. She passes a razor over the inside of their elbow and drinks. This way they are not infected, and do not have to die.
She must be invited inside of a dwelling. Public buildings might be more ambiguous, but Eli is not taking chances.
Eli was made into a vampire a couple hundred years ago. Born - a boy - to a couple of poor farmers, he was remarkably beautiful, considered the most beautiful child anyone had ever seen. The lord they served announced a competition that all families with a son between the ages of eight and twelve had to enter; it was called a competition even though no prizes or rewards were mentioned. Dressed in his best - for a peasant - Eli was brought by his parents to the castle along with six other boys from his village.
The effeminate lord rolled a die to decide on which boy won. It was, unfortunately, Eli. Eli never saw his family again. He was castrated rather viciously by the lord and bitten and drunk from repeatedly. Unlike, however, other boys who had met this fate, Eli was not killed, managing to escape a staking and hide out. Eli doesn't know what happened to this vampire; she doesn't live in fear of him, exactly, and yet doesn't seem to realize he is gone and does not have control over her life.
Eli has only ever met one other vampire in her life, beyond the one that made her. That, however, is subject to change.
