Full Name: Heldir, also known as Ryder
Fandom: POTO, original, other (specify)? Lord of the Rings OC
Age: 112
Height: 5’ 11”
Build: Broad and strong, with capable hands and thighs strong enough to keep him on a horse bareback at a full gallop in the dead of winter.
Hair: Dark blonde, cropped short by ranger standards, falling about his eyesoh so invitingly and just over his neck.
Eyes: Gray as cold stone.
Nationality: Dúnedain
Job: Ranger of the North
Personality: Like most rangers, Heldir is reserved and a touch distant. His cold eyes belie an age not reflected in his face and though he might blend with other humans in passing, he if often out of place among them for any length of time. He is most often seen as stoic, but spontaneous moments of levity are not out of character. His duties keep him focused, but there is something beneath the cool surface that yearns to be discovered and connect.
Life Story (as much as you want us to know):
Descended from the Westron that fled their sinking island kingdom, Heldir’s bloodline filtered down through the ages in Arthedain, isolated from Middle Men. However, with the fall of his kingdom, Heldir’s ancestors moved the Angle south of Rivendell.
It was there that he was born and raised in the manner of his people. He took quickly to the sword and tracking arts. But above everything else, was his connection to the horse. Often forsaking the companionship of his fellow rangers, Heldir would take his steed out for a long ride, only to return for his watch. Over time, he learned the importance of personable connection as well, but has not abandoned his association with horses. Some say that his horse mastery rivals that of Rohan, though Heldir would never make such a bold statement.
Though reserved amongst strangers, rumor would hold that he can be quite a character among his own kind and those in his utmost confidence. He has served repeatedly under Aragorn II Elessar, and while in his command earned the name Heldir (the Naked Man). He’s mum to the story behind it in all but the tightest circles, but has embraced both that name and Ryder. His duties to the Dúnedain have taken him many places in Middle Earth, but in none has he made a true home. He claims his only needs are simple; Belroch, his noble horse; Halhigil, his trusted blade; his connection with Nature and his purpose to his People.
