Full Name: Velma Dace Dinkley
Fandom: POTO, original, other (specify)? Scooby-Doo
Age: 24
Height: 5'5"
Weight: Ahem. Excuse me.
Build: Obscured by sweater, but not bad
Hair: Dark brown
Eyes: Dark brown*
Nationality: American
Job: Archaelogist, former teen detective
Personality: Velma is of divided character. One the one hand, when it comes to problems and quandaries she can solve empircally and logically, she's firm and unwavering in her confidence and determination, a very strong woman. On the other hand, interpersonally she's a doormat, more or less the epitome of the genius who allows others to tell her what do. She's brilliant, fairly nice and quite skilled at other things (including archaeology, of course), but she can never really take the reins of her own life. While she was with Mystery Inc., she was content to just have friends rely on her, but during her life since, she's become increasingly tired and upset about all of it, to the point where she avoids relationships now. She is also openly lesbian, having come out in college: it was too stressful to go on concealing it, as she'd always known.
Life Story (as much as you want us to know): Velma acted as "the brains" of "Mystery Inc.", if not finding all the clues than usually stringing them together and solving the math necessary for their plans. She was also the go-to woman for trivia that could prove handy. That, of course, was fun, and she was happy to share the praise that the group got and deserved.
Like all good things, this had to come to an end, along with their adolescences. After school was out for the last time, Velma bade a sad farewell to the gang and left for a college in Canada. Having got her degree in archaeology, Velma used her newfound freedom to prove that she was a spectacularly poor judge of character, getting into an abusive relationship with a former roommate, who not only treated Velma lower than dirt, but cheated on her openly and depended on her full time. It hurt her deeply, but Velma decided rationally that she couldn't go on living like this, and broke off the relationship. Due to the hardship of this, she's still recovering, and for the moment finds it difficult to contemplate the idea of relationships out of fear of getting hurt again.
This vacation to Paris should be a nice, relaxing break from her personal troubles.
